Achyutam Keshavam Bhajan Lyrics In Hindi & Translation in English

The first couple of verses are repeated throughout this bhajan:

“Achyutam Keshavam Krishna Damodaram
Rama Naraynam Janaki Vallabham”

These are some of the many different names for Shri Krishna and Lord Vishnu. Reciting these names over and over increases your closeness and devotion to Vishnu.

Achyutam Keshavam Krishna Damodaram
Rama Naraynam Janaki Vallabham
Kaun Kehta Hai Bhagvan Aate Nahi
Tum Meera Ke Jaise Bulate Nahi

Who says God doesn’t come to you?
You don’t call her like Meera does. (Meera was a poet and loyal devotee of Krishna, and lived around the 16th century)

Achyutam Keshavam Krishna Damodaram
Rama Naraynam Janakivallabham
Kaun Kehta Hai Bhagvan Khaate Nahi
Ber Shabri Ke Jaise Khilate Nahi

Who says God doesn’t eat?
You don’t offer berries the way Shabri did. (Shabri was a Rama devotee who lived on her own in the forest and would go on her own with her walking stick everyday to collect berries to offer her Lord)

Achyutam Keshavam Krishna Damodaram
Rama Naraynam Janaki Vallabham
Kaun Kehta Hai Bhagvan Sote Nahi
Maa Yashoda Ke Jaise Sulate Nahin

Who says God doesn’t sleep?
Perhaps you don’t put him to sleep the way Mother Yashoda did. (Yashoda was Krishna’s foster mother)
